A circular piece of DNA found in e.g. bacterial cells. Plasmids are separate from chromosomal DNA and can replicate independently. In this experiment we use a plasmid called pGLO. The plasmid contains the gene which codes for a green fluorescent protein and a gene which codes for a protein that makes the bacteria antibiotic resistant.
