Bacterial Transformation

BSL Signed in British Sign Language

The pGLO plasmid confers two important traits to the bacteria. First of all it allows them to glow green (by the production of Green Fluorescent Protein) and second it allows the bacteria to grow on an antibiotic (ampicillin) that would normally kill them. It gives the bacteria antibiotic resistance. Remember: DNA - RNA - PROTEIN - TRAIT
